Kvitova 1.42, Garcia 3.30
Head to heads are 2-2. Their latest meeting was at the US Open in August. Kvitova won comfortably in straight sets. Garcia has won 2 of their last 3 matches.
Garcia is in amazing form and has really raised her game recently. She has won 9 of her last 10. She beat Svitolina in a 3rd set tie break in the last round. It was a really scrappy match with both players being broken multiple times. Svitolina served for the match in the third set and also had a match point in the tie break. That must have taken a lot out of Garcia. She still has an outside chance of qualifying for the year end finals in Singapore but if I understand the situation correctly she has to make the final this week to keep her hopes alive of taking the final place from Konta.
Kvit has also played well and has not made the usual number of unforced errors. She has looked impressive all week and has not lost a set. On paper her toughest opponent was Wozniacki but she played her best tennis in that match and gave the Dane very few chances.
Kvitova starts today’s match as fairly strong favourite but if Garcia has enough energy left for another fight and is motivated to stay in contention for Singapore we could have a good match We have a good chance of 3 sets. The value is on Garcia.to take at least a set.
Lay Kvitova around 1.30 and remove or reduce liability around 1.60
