This week she played a very solid match against Kristyna Pliskova and only faced 2 break points. She was broken once. Against Varvara Lepchenko in the last round she again faced 2 break points which were both converted by the American. Kvitova hit 8 double faults in that match.
Wozniacki won the title in Tokyo last month beating Muguruza in the semi final and Pavlyuchenkova in the final. She also bombed out of Wuhan in the first round losing to Sakkari in straight sets. This week she needed 3 sets in the opening round. She took the first and third sets 6-1 and lost the second in a tie break. In the last round she had another win over Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets. She faced 8 break points in that match but saved them all.
Wozniacki has stronger overall results this year. She has won 74% of her matches compared to Kvitova’s 66%. The gap is bigger on hard courts. we have a good chance of 3 sets.

Awful start from Wozniacki and kvitova was playing well above her expected level. In the second set Wozniacki had chances but just couldn’t take them.
