WTA Indian Wells, 1st round: Peng v Tsurenko (11:30pm)

Peng won their only previous meeting last month in 2 easy sets.

Peng has come through the qualifying rounds this week. She has been in decent form recently though did retire last week. It doesn’t seem to have been anything serious and looked sharp in the qualifying rounds.

Peng is looking for her second win of the year over Tsurenko

Tsurenko won the title in Acapulco last week. She was a little fortunate that 2 of her opponents retired but she played well.

This looks like 3 sets. Tsurenko’s body has let her down so many times in the past and I think she will be tired today. Peng starts around 1.90 and whilst I think it will be closer than their last meeting I still favour Peng to get another win over the Ukrainian.

Tsurenko will want to start quickly. Lay her if she breaks first.
