WTA Rome, 10:00 – I was surprised to see that Stosur has a 6-0 record over Li Na. However their last match was in 2011 and Li has improved a great deal since then and is now ranked 2nd in the world. She will be hoping to win at least her second ever set over the Aussie.

Since her flop/tank against Bacsinszky Stosur has found some consistency. She reached the third round in Madrid losing to Sharapova and has a couple of decent scalps this week beating Vesnina and Lisicki in straight sets.

Li reached the quarter finals in Madrid and was also knocked out by Sharapova. Her form in some of her recent matches has been erratic to say the least and if Stosur can continue to serve well then we should be looking at 3 sets today.

Li usually comes good in deciding sets though so I will be favouring her. Her starting price of 1.53 isn’t too tempting given some of her recent starts. I will wait for her to go a break behind.

ATP Rome, 14:00Murray had a straight sets win over Granollers. He has a strong record over Melzer and has never lost to the Austrian but they have not met on clay.

Melzer has knocked out a couple of big servers in Isner and Cilic and should be up for this match.

Murray has already improved on his early exit from Rome last year and does he really need to be beaten up by Rafa in the quarter finals?

Murray at 1.26 seems a crazy price and has to be a lay. I think Melzer has a great chance today.

WTA Rome, 16:00Jankovic was impressive against Kuznetsova last night but the Russian retired at 0-4 in the second set. Pennetta had more of a struggle against Bencic and needed 3 sets having lost the second set 2-6.

Jankovic leads the head to heads 7-2 and has won both their matches in the last 3 seasons. That included a win on clay in Stuttgart last month that went to three sets.

Pennetta’s form has dipped a little in the last couple of months. Does that coincide with boyfriend Fognini’s meltdown?

Jankovic starts around 1.60 and I have to favour her but as they went to three sets in Stuttgart I will wait for a higher entry price. Anything over 1.85 will get my interest.
