Monte Carlo, 9:30 – Fognini made hard work of beating Sousa. His opponent was serving for the match before he started playing.
He played Bautista Agut in Miami and won in 3 sets. He leads the head to heads 4-1 and beat him easily last season in their only previous clay court meeting.
If he allows Bautista Agut to serve for the match as Sousa did then I don’t think he will be able to dig himself out of that hole. I expect a better performance from the start by Fognini but still think we will get a higher entry price in the early part of the match.
Bautista Agut will push him close but I will be on Fognini for the win. He reached the semi finals last season and won’t give up those points easily.
Monte Carlo, 11:30 – Robredo is of course a strong player and especially on clay but surely 1.23 is too low against Benneteau.
Benneteau’s performance against Melzer won’t have helped that price although Melzer started their match playing as well as he has for a while.
Robredo leads the head to heads 5-2. I would say 1.40 would be the right price for this one so I will be laying Robredo at the start. Don’t get too greedy if you do the same as I will be surprised to see him lose the match.
