ATP AEGON Championships, 14:30 – Kokkinakis v Chardy
It was a decent clay season from Kokkinakis. He reached the third round at the French Open and won a Challenger title. He has very little experience on grass but his serve should do well for him.
Chardy reached the 4th round at the French Open. His form wasn’t great going into that tournament. he made the 4th round at Wimbledon last year as well as the quarter finals in Eastbourne.
Chardy should edge this if he is interested but I expect him to trade higher than 1.49 . If Kokkinakis can take the ball early and take time away from Chardy he can push this close.
Back Chardy if he goes a break behind.
ATP AEGON Championships, 15:30 – Sousa v Lopez
Lopez won their only previous meeting. That was in 2013 on clay and he won in 4 sets.
Sousa reached the semis in Holland last year but fell in the second round last week.
Lopez reached the final at Queens Club last year and has a strong record at this tournament. He lost last week to Groth but I did wonder if he was saving his energy for what is one of his favourite tournaments.
No value at 1.30 . Lopez won’t be easy to break but maybe Sousa can take a tie break set. If Lopez goes behind I will back him.
