Here is yesterday’s sheet 19feb2015
A lot of people have realised the value of my Daily Spreadsheet. Check it out and get yours TODAY.
WTA Rio Open, 13:00 – Pfizenmaier v Larsson
Larsson won their only previous meeting which was on a hard court in January. She won in straight sets. The 6 month stats are all favouring Larsson.
Pfizenmaier had a good win over Brengle in the last round although Brengle isn’t an experienced clay courter. Pfizenmaier’s second serve is quite weak.
Larsson has served well this week and improved her second service points won in the last match to 57%.
Neither player has defended break points well so far this week so I expect quite a few breaks. It should also be a close match.
I am going with Larsson to win but her SP is a little low. Wait for a higher entry on Larsson. 1.70 is a more realistic price on her.
WTA Dubai Duty Free Champs, 15:00 – Halep v Wozniacki
Head to heads are 1-1. their most recent meeting was in August 2013 and was won by Halep in 2 sets.
The 6 month stats favour Halep. She has hit more double faults than she would like this week. Wozniacki’s serve has also been more vulnerable than normal. She also hasn’t hit a single ace so far. Wozniacki has been broken 9 times to Halep’s 7. Halep was broken 5 times in the last round by Makarova.
Neither player is at their best right now. Wozniacki has been hit by the cold/bug that has been going around the players.
Wozniacki won the title in 2011 but has lost in all 3 of her semi finals since then. This is a tough one to call but Halep in 3 sets looks the most likely.
Halep starts at 1.76 but she has been making slow starts this week and we should get an entry price well above evens on her.
ATP Open 13, 19:30 – Simon v Chardy
Simon leads the head to heads 3-0 with their most recent meeting being earlier this month. He won in straight sets.
The 6 month stats favour Simon in every category except service holds.
Chardy served superbly to beat Gulbis in the last round. Simon served well overall to beat Coric but needed 3 sets. He wasted a lot of chances to break and was broken 3 times himself. Chardy has faced 9 break points and has been broken just once this week. Simon has also faced 9 break points and has been broken 4 times.
Simon’s price is understandable based on their previous matches and also the recent win but if Chardy can continue to serve well he can keep this close. Simon isn’t a good match up of styles for Chardy though. Simon loves long rallies and Chardy tends to lose patience .
Simon starts at 1.60 but i will wait for a little higher before backing him.
