WTA Nurnberg, 11:00Pliskova had a good win in the first round as underdog against Meusburger. Her serve started to crumble a little in the second set but fortunately for her meusburger wasn’t able to hold her own service games.

Van Uytvanck can trouble a lot of players on her day. Unfortunately it isn’t often her day.

Pliskova starts around 1.60 and taking the opening set will probably mean she wins the match. Van Uytvanck has a very poor record when losing that first set.

As Pliskova’s serve can be fragile at times I would prefer a slightly higher price on her and I’ll be jumping on anything approaching 1.90 or better.

WTA Strasbourg, 12:00Lucic Baroni reached the third round in Doha as a qualifier but retired against Radwanska. That was back In February and she has won just one main draw match since. She has come through 3 qualifying rounds to get to this stage.

Jovanovski also made a promising start to the season with a quarter final in Hobart but hasn’t made it beyond the second round since. However she has been unlucky with her draws and her last 4 losses were to Stephens, Ivanovic, Vesnina and Torro Flor.

They have played just once before which was in 2012 and on a hard court. Jovanovski won in straight sets.

Jovanovski starts at 1.63 and i think we have a good chance of seeing her above evens.  Lucic Baroni has had 3 matches to get used to conditions and i’ll think she will keep this close but I am going with Jovanovski to get the win. I will back her when a break behind.

WTA Strasbourg, 16:30Cornet starts as a  1.45 favourite against Giorgi. Cornet is the defending champion and also made it to the final in 2012.

They have met twice already this year with Cornet winning both times in 3 sets. This is their first meeting on clay.

Giorgi is at her career high ranking of 54 and played well last week in Rome for a match and a half beating Cibulkova in the first round and taking the opening set 6-1 against McHale. She doesn’t have the home crowd this time although she did beat Bartoli at this same stage last season.

This should be an entertaining match and I won’t be surprised if they again go to a deciding set. It is difficult to go against Cornet at this event though and I don’t think Giorgi will be the one to take her down.
