I usually do a tournament preview for the Grand Slams but what people are really interested in is which players will do well for their bets on the outright winner markets.
So here are my predictions for the fourth rounds and quarter finals.
Nadal v Almagro – Almagro’s recent win over Nadal could see his price come in nicely from his 170 pre tournament price
Dimitrov v Ferrer
Wawrinka v Fognini – Wawrinka 17 pre tournament
Berlocq v Murray – A few doubts about this one! Berlocq is at 1000 pre tournament and will have to beat Gasquet and Verdasco. Murray showed against Nadal that he can perform on clay but will have a tricky 3rd round with Kohlschreiber.
Berdych v Isner – Berdych 110 pre tournament
Gulbis v Federer – Gulbis at 190 pre tournament
Raonic v Nishikori – An outside chance of Simon beating Raonic based on his match with Nadal and the Frenchman did make the 4th round last year. Nishikori’s body may be failing at this stage in which case Dolgopolov may beat him
Tsonga v Djokovic – Very achievable for Tsonga but this is as far as he goes.
Nadal v Ferrer
Wawrinka v Murray
Berdych v Federer
Nishikori v Djokovic
S Williams v Vinci – Vinci may have trouble with Lisicki in round 3
Stosur v Sharapova – Only Cibulkova standing in Stosur’s way but Cib’s form has been poor. Stosur at 85 pre tournament.
Radwanska v Suarez Navarro – Carla at 90 pre tournament.
Pennetta v Kerber – Pennetta’s form hasn’t been the best recently but if she can turn it on Kirilenko and Bouchard are win-able. She is at 230 pre tournament.
Kuznetsova v Safarova – Kuz at 110 pre tournament.
Makarova v Halep – Halep at 16 and with a decent chance of a semi final place.
Jankovic v Errani – Errani is coming into form at just the right time and 75 isn’t a bad price. Meets Li if she reaches the quarter final and has beaten both her and Jankovic recently.
Wozniacki v Li – Woz has a decent draw with only Pavlyuchenkova a potential problem. Woz is at 250 pre tournament. Her recent relationship break down didn’t seem to affect Rory’s performance this week.
S Williams v Sharapova
Radwanska v Pennetta
Kuznetsova v Halep
Errani v Li
