WTA Portugal, 11:00 – Wickmayer has won all 3 of her previous matches with Urszula Radwanska. Given that Radwanska has lost her last 8 matches that run probably isn’t going to be halted today.
However Wickmayer rarely does things the easy way and she has lost 4 of her last 6 matches. The losses weren’t terrible though and she gave a decent account of herself against Safarova and Cilbulkova (at least in the first set).
Wickmayer can throw a lead away quicker than Liverpool and I expect to see some swings in this one. I will be laying which ever player gets the first break of serve. I do expect Wickmayer to win in the end.
ATP Munich, 14:00 – Delbonis is clearly very talented on clay. His problems seem to be in his head. Too many chokes and tanks for my liking. He seems to put more effort in against big names and whilst Davydenko is a big name from the past I think Delbonis will want this one.
Davydenko won’t roll over foer him though. His season isn’t going any better than the last one but every one of his losses this year have been close ones. In fact every set he has played has either been a tie break or has seen the player separated by a single break.
I think Delbonis takes it but that we will see a higher price on him. I will look to lay him at 1.35 or lower in the early games. Start taking your liability out above 1.75.
ATP Munich, 16:00, Karlovic isn’t at his best on clay. In his last match which was against Stepanek in Monte Carlo saw him win just 3 games. His lowest total in a match for many years. He hasn’t won a main tour match on clay in the last 3 years.
Brown can be as erratic as any tennis player but he does have a huge amount of talent. In Houston he beat Isner and narrowly lost to Querrey. He did have a poor loss to 165th ranked Cecchinato in a Challenger last week though I’m not sure how motivated he was. This week in his adopted home country he should be up for it.
I’m not too keen on backing him at 1.50 but may have part stake on him from the start. We would have to be unlucky if Karlovic gets a win on the clay.
