Rain delays in Munich. Start times are uncertain.
ATP BMW Open, Kohlschreiber v Vesely
Kohlschreiber leads 1-0. That match was in 2013 at the French open. He won in 4 sets.
He lost his first match in Munich last year but reached the final in 2013 as defending champion. He made the quarter finals last week losing to Ferrer but really should have taken that second set. He was twice a break ahead.
Vesely lost the final in Bucharest on Sunday in 2 tie breaks. He may well have energy problems today. Losing such a tight final will have drained him mentally too.
Kohlschreiber never wins the easy way and will probably trade higher but should win. The sets should be close as both can serve big.
WTA Grand Prix De SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem, 15:30 – Vinci v U Radwanska
Vinci leads the head to heads 3-1. The most recent was in 2013 on a hard court and Vince won in 3 sets.
Vinci started the season better than last year but has had injury problems since then. She did push Lisicki very close in Indian Wells losing 6-4 in the third set.
Radwanska’s best tennis hasn’t been on clay. Hard courts are her surface of choice.
If Vinci is fit then she is the stronger clay player but given her recent problems and form 1.46 is too low. Back Vinci if she is a break behind.
