ATP Malaysian Open, 08:30 – Sousa v Przysiezny

The 12 month indoor stats and 12 month hard stats favour Przysiezny. Most of his matches were in Challengers though.

Sousa had a great week last week reaching the final and taking Raonic to 3 sets in that final match. He may be tired though they have delayed his first match to let him rest.

I expect close sets but will give a slight edge to Przysiezny. I’m not sure how motivated Sousa will be this week.

Lay Sousa below 1.30

WTA Wuhan Open, 08:15 – Kvitova v Vinci

Kvitova leads their previous meetings 3-2. They have played twice last season and Kvitova won both in 2 sets. The matches were on hard and indoor hard courts.

Kvitova had a tough 3 setter with Gavrilova yesterday. She was broken 6 times. That was her 1st match since the US Open. She is the defending champion this week.

Vinci has played 2 matches already this week. She lost the first set of the week but has looked fairly solid since. She faced 17 break points yesterday though. She saved 14 of them but you would expect Kvitova to take more advantage.

If Kvitova is healthy and isn’t feeling the effects of her last match she should be able to hit through Vinci. Vinci will make her work hard though.

Back Kvitova if she is broken first.

WTA Wuhan Open, 13:00 – Kerber v Giorgi

All the 12 month stats favour Kerber. She beat Jankovic in a long 3 setter in the last round. There were a lot of break points in that match (25 in total). Kerber was broken 6 times.

Giorgi saved a match point in her match with Pironkova and came through the last round due to Bencic retiring. She will feel she has nothing to lose today and will be swinging hard. As we know when she does that the ball can go anywhere!

Kerber should be too strong. Back Kerber if she gets broken first. No value at 1.27 .
