The previews will appear shortly. I have had a few things to sort out this morning.
In the early games I will be opposing Haas. The market is keeping faith with him and he has a strong record against Sijsling (3-0) but he is struggling with injury and was well below his best last week against Klizan.
The last time Stepanek split up from a girlfriend his form dropped off. He has split from Kvitova. Whether that gives Anderson enough of a chance today remains to be seen. He has lost his last 2 on clay but they were all close sets against Monfils and Hanescu who are both solid on the dirt.
WTA Madrid, 14:00 – Stosur started her match with Cibulkova pretty much as people expected. She went 0-3 in the first set but fought back to take it 6-4. She then won the second set 6-0.
Today’s opponent Muguruza should have a great career but she has a few things to sort out first. Quite frequently she seems to be in decent form but when she gets to either a big match or is up against a big name she crumbles. She reached the semi final in Marakech but won just 3 games against Torro Flor with a bagel in the first set. She reached the final in Florianopolis but lost the third set 6-0. She had a great run at the Australian Open beating Wozniacki in the third round but then won just 4 games against Radwanska.
Stosur certainly qualifies as a big name and if she has found her serve as it appears she did in the last round she will be too strong for Muguruza.
Stosur starts at 1.66 and you have to be brave or nuts to back her at that price but if she goes a break behind I will be backing her.
