ATP Stuttgart, 12:30Leo Mayer should be too strong for Berrer on clay.  He reached the quarter finals in Nice and then the third round at the French Open. For good measure he made the 4th round at Wimbledon.

Berrer isn’t in great form and has lost his last 4 matches. he has won just 2 of his last 10.

Mayer has the bigger serve and stronger pedigree on the clay but Berrer is playing at home so I will need a better price on Mayer than his 1.27 SP. An early break for Berrer cheered on by the home crowd would be a good time to back Mayer.

WTA Gastein, 13:00Goerges is clinging on to her top 100 ranking but only just. The 99th ranked player is reasonable on the clay but has only been past the second round once on the dirt this year. That was a quarter final finish in Strasbourg.

Voegele has won just 2 main draw matches on clay in 2014.

They have played twice on clay and Voegele won each time. Goerges’ SP of 1.51 looks way too low. She occasionally has a match where she serves well which gives her confidence but those matches are few and far between. i will be laying her with part stake at the start and will lay again if she takes an early break lead. It’s impossible to call the winner so I am expecting Goerges to trade higher.

WTA Bucharest, 16:00Hercog has a superb game for clay. She has reached a couple of quarter finals this season but her more recent form hasn’t been too hot.

Tatishvili has been doing well in the ITf clay events and if Hercog is below her best today we will see her trade a lot higher than her SP of 1.31 .

ATP Newport, 18:00Berankis takes on Jaziri. Neither is in great form. Berankis has lost his last 4 in America and Jaziri has lost 6 in a row when starting as slight underdog.

Both have not won a grass court match in the last year,

Jaziri retired from a Challenger last month with fatigue which is incredible as he rarely gets past the second round. I am going with Berankis in this one but not at 1.59. if i can get over 1.80 in the early games i will take it. I won’t be getting carried away with the stakes.

ATP Newport, 20:00Ebden and Ram start at evens.

They have completed 2 matches in the past. Both were on hard courts in American and they won one each. They haven’t played in the last 2 seasons though.

Ram has much better stats on grass. Ebden has won just 1 of his 6 matches on the surface in the last 12 months. Ram has won 5 of his 9 matches in the same period.

Ram reached the semi finals in 2012 although went out in the second round last year. I am going with part stake on him from the start. I will look to top up if he goes above 2.20 .
