WTA Katowicz, 13:00 – Unmarried life seems to suit Koukalova. Zakopalova divorced her husband in January and she has won a couple of titles since then!

Beck isn’t having a bad season either. She started with a semi final in Shenzhen and has reached third rounds in Indian Wells and Doha and also made the second round in Dubai as a qualifier.

Beck was only broken twice against Barthel in the first round although Barthel was again terrible, especially in the opening set. Koukalova was also only broken a couple of times in her first round match even though her own serving performance wasn’t great.

As both players are better on return than their respective first opponents I am expecting a few breaks in this one. Three sets seem likely and I am slightly favouring Koukalova to take it.

They start fairly evenly priced with Koukalova a marginal favourite. I will be laying the first player to go a break ahead and also the first set winner.

Update: Koukalova won 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.

ATP Casablanca, 16:30 – I was a little surprised to see Anderson play this event last season but he managed to reach the final. He lost to Robredo in 3 sets.

He looks a little low at 1.40 against Hanescu. He leads the head to heads 3-2 and has won their last 3 meetings but the last time they played on clay was in 2011.

Hanescu has already played one match on these courts so should settle slightly quicker.

I’ll back Anderson when he is an early break down.

Update: What was he doing? Hanescu won 6-4, 6-4.

ATP Houston, 20:00 – Hewitt and Querrey can both be very unpredictable. They haven’t met since June last year and have never played on clay.

They both prefer the faster courts but I expect Hewitt to be able to adapt his game better than Querrey. If the courts are allowed to dry out they can quicken up and maybe the staff will try to let that happen to help their own player. Either way I don’t think it will be enough and I am favouring Hewitt to have more court craft on the slower surface.

Update: Hewitt had a break lead in set 2 but threw it away. Querrey won 6-3, 6-4.
