ATP Atlanta Open, 2nd round: Smyczek v Young (20:30)

Head to heads are  7-7. Smyczek won their last 4 matches.  They have met twice in 2016. He won on clay in April in Houston and In February they met in Delray Beach on a hard court. That one went to 3 sets.  He won their last 3 hard court matches.

Hard court stats for the year favour Young. This is only the 2nd time that he won a main draw match in Atlanta with the other being in 2010. He beat Krajicek in 3 tight sets.

Smyczek also needed 3 sets in his 1st match. He was pushed very hard by Monteiro who doesn’t have a lot of hard court experience.

Young can be very unpredictable but I would favour him to win. With their more recent history Smyczek has shown that he knows how to beat Young so we should get 3 sets. Back Young if he gets broken
