ATP Atlanta Open, Sandgren v Albot

Due to start at 7 pm

Sandgren 2.14, Albot 1.86

Albot has won both their previous meeting. They last met was at the French Open in May. He won on a clay court in 4 sets. Both their matches were on clay.

Overall results are fairly even this year. Albot was better over the last 12 months. His hard court results are stronger in the last 12 months and in 2019.

Sandgren had has success this season on all outdoor surfaces. He started the year really well taking the ATP title in Auckland. He then lost in the first round of his next 6 tournaments. In fact he lost in the first round of his next 9 ATP tournaments but played a few Challenger tournaments in April and boosted his confidence with 2 semi finals and a final on clay and hard courts. He had an excellent grass season reaching the 4th round at Wimbledon and the quarter finals in Newport.

Albot also started the year well with a semi final finish in ATP Pune. He has an indoor semi final in Montpellier in February. Also in February he took the ATP title in Delray Beach on hard courts and backed that up with a 3rd round finish in Indian Wells as a qualifier. He has also had a quarter final on clay in the ATP tournament in Geneva in May.  He didn’t have much luck in the grass tournaments.

I favour Albot to take a tight match. Back him around 2.10
