ATP Madrid Open, Final: Djokovic v Murray (17:30)

Djokovic leads their meetings 22-10. He is 3-0 on clay.

Murray played well to beat Nadal in straight sets. In both sets though he was broken serving at 5-3 before immediately breaking again to win the set.

Murray lost his only set of the week in the first round against Stepanek.  Since then he has looked a lot sharper and has been playing aggressive tennis. He has served well and especially so in the big points. Simon and Berdych were poor though Murray put them under pressure from the first ball.

Nishikori gave Djokovic a decent work out in the semi final but still didn’t take a set. Their second set went to a tie break.

Djokovic hasn’t dropped a set this week. He hasn’t even been broken.

I doubt Murray can win this but I am hoping he can take it to 3 sets. Lay the set 1 winner. Lay Djokovic around 1.15 if we get that price in the early games.

  1. Finally Djokovic has made it as expected. I expect Roger Federer to comeback strongly in French Open after his injury to see a good game of tennis.

    1. Djokovic was not at his best but I think a lot of that was due to how well Murray played. I think Fed will struggle to go deep at RG
