ATP Western and Southern Open, Cincinnati, 1st round: Cuevas v Querrey (17:30)

Querrey won their only previous meeting in June last season. That was on grass and he won in 2 tie break sets.

Querrey doesn’t have a great record in Cincinnati but has only lost in the 1st round twice ( 2006, 2013).  He had a great grass season which included beating Djokovic at Wimbledon. He backed up his quarter final there with another quarter final in Washington but it all caught up with him and he was forced the retire in Toronto.

Cuevas has improved his hard court game this year but can be very inconsistent. He also doesn’t lose many first round matches on this surface. He served extremely well in his first match in Rio but his serve was poor against Bellucci in the next round.

As I expect a very tight opening set we have value on Cuevas. Lay Querrey below 1.40 and switch to Querrey if he loses set 1
