14:00 – Murray v Nadal
Nadal leads their previous matches 15-8. They haven’t played a competitive match on a hard court since 2011.
Wawrinka didn’t put up too much of a fight but Nadal was impressive in his first match. I still don’t think that he is at his best but he isn’t a million miles away.
Murray looked pretty solid against Ferrer. The Spaniard had some problems with his serve and gave up a few double faults. He pushed Murray pretty hard in both sets
I think this one will be tight and can go either way. Value is on Nadal at the start. He has never won this title and will be keen to get to the weekend. Murray must have one eye on the Davis Cup final which is a distraction.
Lay the set 1 winner. Its a really tough one to call. Nadal has a real chance as long as his performance in the last match wasn’t flattered by Wawrinka’s poor effort.
20:00 – Wawrinka v Ferrer
Wawrinka has won 3 of their last 4 though Ferrer leads the head to heads 8-6.
Ferrer was competitive against Murray despite having a poor day on serve.
Wawrinka broke Nadal’s serve in the first game but was broken straight back to love. He was never really in the match after that. His attitude will really need to improve if he is to make the semi finals and keep up his record of always doing so.
I have a feeling he will sulk his way through this one. Three sets are quite possible but I give a slight edge to Ferrer. He will need to serve better today though!
