I am having some family issues this evening. Long story that won’t interest anyone but I have posted a preview I had started earlier. I am unlikely to be able to add any more as I am juggling so many plates that health and safety have been on the phone. Apologies
WTA, midnight – Cibulkova v Azarenka
Azarenka beat Stephens and Wozniacki in straight sets. She also beat Zahlavova Strycova in straights but she had more problems on serve than in her previous rounds. She hit 4 double faults which isn’t a lot but only won 40% of points on her second serve. She gave BZS 13 break points and whilst only 4 were converted a repeat of that total should be punished by Cibulkova.
Cibulkova had a very tough test in the last round against an in form Cornet. Cornet served for the opening set but was broken. Cibulkova went on to take the set and the second was more one sided.
If Aza has another poor day from the service line then Cibulkova’s ground strokes can hurt her. I favour Aza to get the win but she will need 3 sets.
Hi Paul

Hi Mark,
Yes she has since 2010. Excellent match from her last night. Easily covered the handicap!
