11:00 – Blake v Monfils
Rankings are 44 and 13. Head to heads are 2-1 to Blake. The only match they have played on a faster court went to Blake but Monfils retired after the first set.
I’m a bit gutted that I am back at work today and won’t be able to watch this one. It could be a belter!
Monfils has one of the best serves in the game. His trouble is a lack of consistency. In his last match he took a long time to get going and really shouldn’t have been taken to 3 sets by Serra.
I watched some of Blake’s last game and he seems to be striking the ball very well although there were a few too many unforced errors.
This should be a game dominated by serve and I don’t expect to see many breaks.
The market has them pretty even. I would expect Monfils to come through but he will need his serve to be close to its best. Wait to see how the opening games go and as long as Monfils is holding comfortably, back him on serve.
Any break of serve will be highly significant to the outcome of the set and/or match. You don’t want to be on the wrong side of it as the price movement will be big.
Backing after a break of serve and greening up after the next game is held will bring a few more ticks profit.
Update:Monfils took a while to get going and lost the firsts set. He eventually came through to win a very tight match
