Hanescu v Youzhny
Rankings are 28 and 64 and the head to head is 3-2 in Hanescu’s favour. Both men have had decent results recently and the market has them pretty much even.
Their previous meetings have always ended up as straight sets victories. Both can be brilliant one day and awful the next.
Sounds like a perfect scalping match to me! I think the market has it about right. take the opportunities that the match gives you which is what scalping is all about.
The stats suggest that whoever wins the first set will win the match.
Update: Some nice swings in the first set and the stat about no 3 setters was sound. Youzhny won 7-5, 6-2
Hernych v Seppi
Rankings are 72 and 45 and the head to head is 2-0 in Hernych’s favour. The market has Seppi as slight favourite at 1.81
Seppi seems to have been concentrating on clay tournaments and has won one and get to the semis of another recently. He is more than capable of winning this one though and I’m sure is keen to chalk one up in the head to head stats.
Hernych can usually perform well against middle ranking opponents and has to fancy his chances. If I had to pick one it would be Seppi but this has scalping written all over it 🙂 Both men can lose concentration and we should see the price swings we need.
Update: Certainly plenty of swings! Seppi won 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 🙂
