10:00 – Berrer v Stakhovsky
Berrer has had a great start to the season reaching 2 finals. 1 on the Challenger tour which he won and the other on the main ATP tour.
Stakhovsky on his day can make a game of it. He’s put in some decent performances this year.
Two fairly big servers here with Berrer winning 86% of his service games to Stakhovsky’s 79%.
Berrer is slight favourite on Betfair at 1.81 and I would agree with that. Stakhovsky will need to be at the very top of his game to win this.
Back Berrer on serve
Update: Berrer won 6-4, 7-6.
16:00 – Robredo v Benneteau
Rankings are 23 and 36. Head to heads are 2-1 to Benneteau. He won their only meeting on a fast court which was also their most recent match (2008)
Benneteau had a fantastic week last week reaching the final of the singles and also winning the doubles. Robredo went out in the second round. With Benneteau having no time in between the finals and leaving for Dubai he may be a little weary today.
On recent form I would have Benneteau as favourite but Robredo being fresher has meant he is 1.76 on Betfair.
If Benneteau is up for the match he will win it. My concern is his energy levels. Watch the opening couple of games to see how he starts. If he is holding serve easily back him on serve.
Update: Benneteau definately below par after a tough week last week.
Robredo won 6-2, 6-1.
