We also have the ATP World Tour Finals though today’s matches don’t offer value unless Djokovic and Federer lose their opening sets.
Fed Cup, 11:00 – Kvitova v Sharapova
Sharapova leads their previous meetings 6-4. Kvitova has won their last 2 matches which were both indoors.
Kvitova made a slow start against Pavlyuchenkova but lost just 2 games in sets 2 and 3. She is playing at home which can be a huge advantage in Fed Cup.
Sharapova beat Pliskova in straight sets. She played great tennis in the group stages in Singapore before Kvitova beat her in the semi final.
Value is on Kvitova as underdog. She won their last 2 matches in straight sets.
I think we see 3 sets today but I am going with Kvitova to win.
Fed Cup, 12:30 – Pliskova v Pavlyuchenkova
Pliskova won their only previous meeting. That was in February this year on a hard court. She won in straight sets.
Pavlyuchenkova started well against Kvitova but was well beaten in the 2nd and 3rd sets.
Pliskova had her chances against Sharapova but couldn’t take them. If Kvitova wins the first match then Pliskova is playing for the title (as is Pavlyuchenkova if Sharapova wins).
Try for a price above 2.10 on Pliskova. Her serve will get her through. I’m not convinced that Pavlyuchenkova is 100% fit
