French Open – Sunday

12:00 – Tipsarevic v Falla

Rankings are 41 and 70. Head to heads ar 1-1. They have never played on clay.

Tipsarevic hasn’t had a great season so far. He has suffered a little with injury too which hasn’t helped. His confidence isn’t where he would want it to be going into a Major.

Falla has put in some good performances and reached a Challenger Final last month. Whilst he was playing lower ranked players it always helps to be winning as it can become a habit in the same way that losing can.

Tipsarevic is really short of match play too and I think that gives Falla an advantage here. Tipsarevic  starts as slight favourite on Betfair but I give the edge to Falla.

Watch how the opening couple of games go and if Falla is holding comfortably then back him on serve. Alternatively, scalping and 15-40 are ok to use.

Update: Rumours that Tipsarevic wasn’t fit must have been going round as pre match his price shot up to leave Falla as  strong favourite.

Falla won 6-1, 6-2, 6-3.

15:00 Robert v Kamke

Rankings are 64 and 195. They haven’t played before.

Robert has lost in the first round of his last 4 tournaments. However he has pushed much higher ranked players very close with 3 of the 4 matches going to three sets.

He is in front of his home crowd which should never be ignored as we saw in yesterday’s final with an injured Gasquet still finding the strength to finish off Verdasco in a third set tie break.

Kamke has had a few wins on the Challenger circuit but taking everything into consideration Robert is the pick for today. His starting price of 1.68 makes this match attractive.

As before watch how the opening games go to make sure money is coming into the market and also to see who settles first.

Update: Robert was never in the match and was soon 6-0 down! Unfortunately I missed the first set. it would have been a very easy one to trade once it was clear that the Frenchman was well below par.

Kamke won 6-0, 6-4, 6-3.
