13:00 – Zverev v Becker ( Gerry Weber Open )

Rankings are 145 and 52. Head to heads are 1-0 to Zverev which was in 2007.

Both Germans came through matches that they weren’t perhaps expected to. Zverev served much better that Melzer in the opening set but Melzer still managed to win it. The better player on the day came through to take the match in 3 sets.

Becker beat a below par Davydenko but did it convincingly.

Both players are serving well and neither has home advantage. This could be a close match.

See how the opening games go and pick who is holding easily to back on serve. I’ll be looking to back Becker.

Update: Becker won 7-6, 6-0.

17:30 – Querrey v Malisse ( Aegon Champs, Queens )

Rankings are 23 and 74. They haven’t played before.

Querrey has come through both rounds in straight sets. His big serve is perfect for grass courts.

Malisse has had a much tougher route to the quarter final with 2 of his 3 matches going to three set sincluding his great win against Djokovic yesterday.

Querrey wins 86% of his service games.

Malisse will be full of confidence but the grass can sap the energy from the legs and he has played a lot of tennis this week. If it turns into a long match he may tire quickly.

Back Querrey on serve.

Update: Querrey won 6-3, 7-5.
