Friday’s Matches – 6th Jan

Nadal v Monfils:

Nadal leads the H2H 8-1 and has won their last 5 matches while losing just 1 set.

Nadal has clearly been working on his serve as this week he has held serve 91% of the time with a first serve percentage of 70% . He is also striking his ground strokes very well and seems to be in decent form leading up to the Oz Open.

Monfils has had knee problems this week but that didn’t stop him in his match with Troicki. It was a comfortable straight sets win over the Serb.

Monfils will need to serve at his best to keep him in this match and at 1.30 Nadal seems decent value based on his performances this week.

Update: Monfils won 6-3, 6-4.

  1. even monfils is a afro-tall-clown he did a really great work today . that was his 2nd win in h2h and he is a fav in tomorrows match for me.

    1. yes, but we must remember he is a good friend of Tsonga and likes to “CLOWN” playing with him.

if monfils can play serious tennis, than he should win tsonga, if he likes to clown again, than he loses.

  2. micky… sharing such opinion has any sence only BEFORE matches, not after when my grandma knows like you who won.
