The grass season is here!
Quite a few interesting matches today. Roll on next season when I won’t be missing them all 🙂
Luquidity may be a little low in the early games so make sure there is money coming into the market DURING the match, not just before.
12:30 – Llodra v Golubev
Rankings are 48 and 77. They haven’t played before.
Neither player had a great clay court season although it has to be said Golubev had some terrible draws meeting Gasquet, Ferrer, Isner and an in-form Chardy.
Llodra has a big, consistent serve that is perfect for grass as the ball will skid off the turf.
He reached the final of the Challenger event in Bordeaux where he lost to Gasquet in a tight three setter so he is hitting the ball pretty well.
He starts at 1.52 on Betfair. Either back him from the start or back him on serve.
Update: Oops this one was actually at the AEGON championships!
Llodra won 6-3, 6-2.
15:00 – Petzschner v Baghdatis
Rankings are 39 and 30. They haven’t played before.
Petzschner has been enjoying some decent form over recent months and reached the semi final of the BMW Open in May.
Baghdatis reached the quarter finals in Nice and also got to the semi finals of the BMW Open.
Both men’s games suit the fast courts and they win 80% and 81% of service games respectively.
Watch how the opening couple of games go as they have both had matches where they have struggled with first serves. I would expedct Baghdatis to win the match but if Petzschner gets his serve firing he has a chance.
Petschner has had some fitness problems so be careful of having your red on him after the first set. ( if a player retires in the first set all bets are void)
I’d be looking to back Baghdatis on serve.
Update: Petzschner’s serve was excellent for most of the match. At times Baghdatis looked very weary.
Petzschner won 6-4, 6-3.
