12:00 – Hewitt v Becker
Rankings are 32 and 52. Head to heads are 1-0 to Hewitt.
Home advantage is working well for the Germans with a representitive in each of the semi finals. However I don’t think either of them will make it to the final.
Hewitt is in great form and has played well during the clay season. Now he is on his favoured grass and he means business. He hasn’t dropped a set so far this week and the former world number 1 is a strong favourite to reach the final.
Becker has also not dropped a set.The quality of the players on show this week has been extremely high and he fully deserves his place in the semi final. He beat Davydenko in straight sets on Thursday.
Becker needs his first serve to be good today. He wins 74% of points when the first serve goes in. Hewitt will be looking to attack any second serves.
Hewitt will need all his experience to reach the final. Most of the stats have Becker ahead but the Australian’s recent form makes him favourite.
Watch how the first couple of games go but I am looking to back Hewitt.
Update: Superb serving by both players throughout the match.
Hewitt won 6-7, 7-6, 6-2.
