Grand Prix Hassan II – Tuesday

Liquidity yesterday was poor. Be very careful of attempting to trade a game with less than £50K matched at the start. Even then you may find huge gaps between prices and also have problems trying to trade out if things go against you.

12:00 – Serra v Ventura

Rankings are 61 and 105. Head to heads are 1-0 to Serra ( which was on clay)

Both players probably prefer clay courts.

Serra has produced some great performances this year ( all on hard courts) taking Federer to 2 tie breaks and losing in 3 sets to Becker, Berdych and Davydenko.

Ventura’s only notable success has been beating Hanescu on clay in February.

I picked this game mainly because it had the highest liquidity at 7am.

Serra should take this in 2 sets. Use scalping and 15-40.

Update: Serra won 6-4, 6-3.

18:00 – O Rochus v Gasquet

Rankings are 59 and 74. Head to heads are 2-2.

Rochus won thier last match a couple of weeks ago at the Sony Ericsson tournament where he also beat Djokovic.

Gasquet has had a poor season so far with very little success.

The market has Gasquet as favourite as in theory his game suits clay better than his opponent’s.

Looks like a perfect match for scalping and 15-40.

I’d expect Rochus to win possibly in 3 sets.

Update: Unfortunately Rochus was incredibly poor. He didn’t win a point on Gasquet’s serve until the second set!

Gasquet won 6-1, 6-1.
