19:00 – Kleybanova v Jankovic
Rankings are 27 and 9. Head to heads are 2-0 to Kleybanova.
Kleybanova has been taken to 3 sets in every round so she may tire quicker than Jankovic who has had just one 3 setter this week.
Kleybanova won the Malaysian Classic a couple of weeks ago where she beat Dementieva in the final.
Jankovic hasn’t had the best of seasons so far but beating Dementieva last night will have given her a real boost.
This could be a close match and I give the edge to Kleybanova.
Use the scalping and 15-40 methods.
Update: Jankovic won 6-4, 6-4. Very close match. Came away with a small green (£8) which would have been larger had Jankovic taken the break points I backed her on in the second set! Ah well……
21:00 – Monaco v Ljubicic
Monaco is a battler but his game is better suited to clay courts. He made a few too many unforced errors in last night’s match against Lopez who pretty much fell apart in the second set.
Ljubicic played some great tennis to beat Djokovic yesterday and his flat hitting should make Monaco’s task a real tall order.
Ljubicic wins 90% of his service games to Monaco’s 80% but Monaco has been having to work very very hard to hold serve this week.
Back Ljubicic on serve. I may be tempted to back Ljubicic from the start. His starting price is 1.72 . If he can play like he did against Djokovic then he will win in straight sets.
Make sure if you choose the latter option that you are comfortable with a strategy for managing the trade if Ljubicic loses serve.

Update: Great match! Ljubicic started serving very well and backing him on serve built up a decent profit. Then he went to sleep for a few games and threw away a service game. This basically handed the first set to Monaco.
After that he got his act together and took the next 2 sets with some impressive and aggressive tennis.
He won 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.
