10:00 – Radwanska v Kirilenko
Rankings are 10 and 61. Head to heads are 1-1.
Kirilenko won their last match which was at the US Open.
Radwanska is currently 1.41 on Betfair but that seems a bit low. I would expect her to win it but it won’t be a walkover.
Kirilenko has shown that she knoes how to win this match-up and I expect several breaks of serve.
Use the 15-40 method.
Update: Kirilenko again showed she has the measure of Radwanska with a comfortable 6-3, 6-3 victory.
13:00 – Martinez Sanchez v Govortsova
Rankings are 34 and 67. They have never met.
On recent form Martinez Sanchez has the edge and I expect her to win. However both women can have a period of the match where they make more unforced errors than usual. For that reason this match could go either way and its another for the 15-40.
Update: I was right to be cautious. Martinez Sanchez was poor in the first set and lost it 6-1. That gave Govortsova the confidence she needed to take the second set 6-4.
