10:30 – Ferrer v Youzhny
Rankings are 19 and 52. Head to heads are 3-2 to Youzhny. He has won their last 3 hard court matches.
Betfair has them close with Ferrer a slight favourite at 1.71 but I think this will be very close and expect Youzhny to nick it.
Youzhny has recently beaten Mathieu, Hanescu and Cilic on hard courts which is no small achievement.
Stats on serves are very similar with 1st serves at 61% / 62% ; Service games won at 78% and break points saved at 61% / 60%.
Back Youzhny on serve or use the scalping method. I have gone for backing Youzhny but as the market has more money on Ferrer I would place trades on him. So if you want to back Youzhny, actually place a lay bet on Ferrer. There will be fewer gaps between prices on him and closing trades will be slightly easier.
Update: A tight first set saw the players swap breaks of serve and take it to a tie break. Youzhny took control and won the tie break 7 points to 3. Ferrer kept it close up until 2-2 in the second set but then started to fall apart. Youzhny took the 2nd set 6-2.
