I won’t be working on Monday as my broadband is being upgraded to fibre optic broadband. For as long as I have been trading I have had a 2meg bb connection so the anticipated 30+meg connection is quite exciting. Fingers crossed the upgrade will be smooth and I’ll be back to 4am starts on Tuesday.
Update: The engineers were running an hour late so the expected arrival time of 8am-1pm became 2pm! Worth the wait as my broadband is flying at the maximum of the package I selected (38meg).
Bogomolov Jr plays Robredo who played an excellent match against Nishikori taking him to 3 sets although he was ninja’d in the third set. Robredo starts at 1.74 and if he can reproduce his form of last week that has to be value.
They have played just once before which was back in 2009. Robredo won it in straight sets and I’d love to see him win this one as he’s a great professional and its fantastic to see him playing well.
Update: Robredo won 7-6, 6-4.
Heather Watson has a potentially tough match with Hercog and is a slight favourite on Betfair at the moment. She played well against Sharapova losing in 3 sets and also beat Lisicki. Hercog came back from the dead against Makarova in China but then lost very tamely to Sharapova. I would wait to get on Watson above evens as I think she has a great chance.
Update: Watson won 6-4, 6-4.
Oh jeez I hope my internet is sorted in time for Haas v Almagro! Almagro starts as slight favourite on Betfair but Haas has the game to upset the Spaniard. They have only played once which was on Almagro’s best surface but that was in 2005 when Almagro was only just inside the top 100.
If Haas is in monster mode he will win in straight sets. Almagro can keep himself in the match if he serves well but in the rallies I expect him to be second best. This will be a great match to watch and I will hopefully be on Haas from the start.
Update: Haas won 4-6, 7-6, 6-2.
