13:30 – Robredo v Nalbandian
Robredo is ranked 23. Nalbandian has no ranking yet following his break from the tour.
Head to heads are 4-2 in Nalbandian’s favour although they haven’t played since 2004.
Nalbandian looked impressive in his match with Youzhny. He seems to be pretty much back to his best.
Robredo had a good win against Triocki. He hasn’t had the best od seasons so far but is finding some form at last reaching the quarter finals of the BNP Paribas event last month.
Nalbandian is slight favourite on Betfair and I would agree with that. I’d expect 2 tight sets with him taking the match.
Back Nalbandian on serve.
Update: Nalbandian won 6-3, 6-4.
15:30 – Djokovic v Wawrinka
Rankings are 2 and 20. Head to heads are 7-2 to Djokovic with him winning the last 6 matches.
Djokovic was runner up in this tournament last year and he is looking good for a return to the final.
He won’t have an easy job today though against a player at the top of his game. Wawrinka won the Grand Prix Hassan II last week on clay.
Wawrinka often lacks confidence against the top players and it will be interesting to see how he handles this match.
Djokovic has to be favourite though and I’d expect him to take the match. Wawrinka has difficulty concentrating at the start of the second set so if he loses the first set it could be over quite quickly.
Back Djokovic on serve.
Update: Wawrinka put up a really good fight and pushed Djokovic all the way.
Djokovic won 6-4, 6-4.
