Youzhny leads their previous meetings 4-2. They haven’t played for over 4 years and their last match was at the London Olympics in 2012. Benneteau won on grass in straight sets. Youzhny won all 3 of their indoor matches.
On recent form I have to go with Benneteau today. Youzhny has had a decent season over all but his recent form has not been great. Since reaching the quarter finals in St Petersburg inn September he has not won a main draw match. He hasn’t won a match in his last 3 tournaments.
Benneteau has struggled to find consistency since he returned from injury but in the last few weeks we have seen some strong performances from him. He reached the semi finals of an indoor Challenger tournament last month and having made it through the qualifying rounds at the Paris Masters last week he took Gilles Simon to 3 sets
I would prefer 1.80 before backing Benneteau. He starts around 1.60.
