PBZ Zagreb Indoors – Final

1500 – Berrer v Dodig

Rankings are 66 and 84. They haven’t played before on the main tour although they played in a qualifying round in 2009 which Dodig won in straight sets.

Dodig will have the support of the home crowd which also gave him a massive lift in the semi final comeback against Garcia-Lopez. He has had a much tougher route to the final and tiredness may be an issue.

Berrer has been in great form this week. He has served well and has looked to be aggressive in every match. He has played a lot less this week so should have more energy than his opponent.

The first set is key here. If Dodig is to take the title I feel he will have to do it in straight sets. I don’t think even the Croatian crowd will carry him through another 3 setter.

I think the first set will be tight with both men serving well. One break of serve or a tiebreak will settle it. Backing both of serve is a good option.

The only thing I can find to seperate them is fitness. Dodig has a better indoor record and has home support but I am conviinced he will run out of steam.

Berrer to win in 3 sets.

Update: Dodig has enough to get the job done in straight sets. 6-3, 6-4.
