18:00 – Berdych v Roddick
Rankings are 20 and 8. Head to heads are 5-2 to Roddick who has won their last 3 matches.
I didn’t give Berdych much chance before his match against Soderling in the semi final. He had a very sraight forward victory ( assisted by a poor performance from Soderling). His serve was better than in previous rounds and his ground strokes gave the Swede little chance.
Roddick showed how he loves a fight. Infront of his home crowd he came back from a set down against hot favourite Nadal. He proved that there is more to him than just a big serve.
Roddick starts as favourite but his price of 1.51 on Betfair is too low. I’d expect the match to be dominated by serve.
Roddick wins 91% of his service games. Berdych wins 88%. Back Roddick on his service games. If Berdych is also holding easily back him too on his own service games. Place all trades on the Roddick ladder while he is below 2.00 .
Roddick to win in 2 tights sets or a 3 setter. There could well be at least 1 tie break. Roddick has one of the best records in tie breaks.
Update: Roddick won 7-5, 6-4.
