Starting prices on most of today’s match are pretty tight and we don’t have many that I want to get involved in from the start.
I don’t think Tsurenko will have everything her own way against Hogenkamp who interestingly has ancestors who owned holiday resorts for pigs, better known now as Blackpool.
Hogenkamp has come through the qualifying rounds where she beat Brianti in straight sets. In the first round she beat Arruabarrena also in straight sets.
Tsurenko starts at 1.49 and a lay of her if she takes an early lead is worth a go.
Fognini doesn’t appear to have suffered any “let down” after his win last week. He does have a poor record the week after he reaches the latter stages of tournaments and usually loses in the first round if he plays at all. He wasn’t messing about yesterday though and Ramos didn’t know what hit him.
If Seppi had a brain the Granollers wouldn’t be here. Seppi was expected to make a slow start playing his first clay court match for a while although I didn’t quite expect it to be THAT slow. He walked all over Granollers in the second set and I expected him to push on to take the match but he rolled over.
I don’t like Fognini’s SP of 1.46 but if Granollers can grab an early lead I will be backing Foggy.
Tursunov impressed me in his match with Chardy. Very strong on his own serve and creating chance after chance on the Frenchman’s serve. He again starts as underdog against Delbonis.
Delbonis beat Robredo in 3 sets yesterday. In the opening set Robredo has his scarf and shawl on and this time was also dragging one of those granny shopping trolleys behind him on court. Delbonis dropping the second set didn’t impress anyone.
I’ll be looking for a lay on Delbonis around 1.40 or better.
