Radwanska had real problems with Putintseva yesterday. She really didn’t look happy with life. She was in real danger of losing the opening set but scraped through.
Kvitova has found a little form recently. She gave Serena a real run for her money last week and yesterday she beat Ivanivic in 3 sets. Her form yesterday was spectacular at times but was also wildly inaccurate at others.
Kvitova leads the head to heads 3-1 although Rad won their most recent match in Istanbul last year.
Radwanska starts as favourite at 1.67 but i feel that Kvitova will take this one. I will be hoping to lay Radwanska lower than Sp and anything below 1.40 seems a decent price.
If Kvitova can limit the errors her big hitting should prove too much for defending champ Radwanska. As we have seen so far this week almost anything can happen.
Many of the players have taken a while to get used to the altitude in Bogota this week. The thin air could have explained Dominguez Lino’s shocking start in her first match against Castano. She was barely able to string 2 points together in the first set but by the time the second started she had made the required adjustments and took the next 2 sets fairly comfortably.
Karin Knapp was much quicker to get used to conditions. She was broken in her first service game by Birnerova but after that was in total control of the match.
They have never played before and Lino starts as slight favourite at 1.80 . Knapp is a very capable player and at her best was ranked 35th in the world. That was in 2008 though and her consistency has faded a little.
I am (usually) a fan of Dominguez Lino although I had a few choice names for her in the opening set of her last match. She fights all the way and I expect the same from her tonight. She doesn’t have the biggest of serves and has to work hard to hold but I have to give her the edge tonight. However as they are quite closely matched I will be waiting to lay Knapp below 1.70 .
