A lot of matches today that can go either way!

Kanepi looks too low at 1.22 against Minella. Yesterday she was 4-1 up in the first set but lost the next 5 games. Minella had a tough 3 setter yesterday but should fight hard.

Update: Kanepi again took a strong lead and she took the firsts et. However it was Minella who took the match.

Minella won 3-6, 6-4, 6-3

Kohlschreiber looks a decent price against Klizan. He won’t have an easy match though so for trading purposes I will be looking to back him above evens. The worry with backing Kohlschreiber is that if he wins the set he often switches off at the start of the second. So ideally he takes the first set with a double break and then we can lay him with the profit.

Update: What the hell was Kohlschreiber doing in that first set?? He came back to eventually take the second set in a tie break. They are on serve in the third set but the match was suspended for rain. They play to a finish on Friday.

Pavlyuchenkova did well to get past Makarova in the last round. She served well with only 4 double faults. She hit 13 doubles in her recent win over Kerber in the Monterrey Final.

Today she is up against Kerber again. The German starts as favourite as she has done in their 2 previous meetings. Pavlyuchenkova won both matches. The last was a 3 setter and the first was settled in 2 tie breaks.

This is the first time they have met on clay and Kerber will have the home crowd on her side. I think we will see another tight match. Kerber will probably trade higher although i’d expect her to make the faster start. I will be waiting to lay her below 1.35 .She has a great chance to get her first win over Pav.

  1. Greetings Shark, watching Kerber vs Pav and the latter is not managing to almost pass the net, save for some erratic inspiration shots. Do you think Kerber will take the second set, or is it a good lay there?

    Many thanks 😛

      1. I really must start following a few players. Are there any other twitter feeds worth following?

        1. To be honest you’ll get very little from the players. You’d be better following the current tournament. They will have a link on their official website. There is always a link to their website on TI
