Beating Tommy Haas is no mean feat these days. Youzhny defeated him in 3 sets in the last round. He won the only previous match between himself and Kevin Anderson last month in straight sets.

Anderson has lost 5 of his last 6 matches on hard courts finally getting a win over Brian Baker in the first round.

Anderson’s serve can always keep matches tight and i would be nervous backing Youzhny at his starting price of 1.67 but as I expect the Russian to win I will be backing him if his price goes above evens. Youzhny often makes life difficult for himself and this  match has the potential to be tricky to trade. Grabbing a higher price takes a little pressure off the trader if he wobbles on his own serve.

Baghdatis played well after a slow start in his first match after the US Open. Monaco won’t make his life easy today but I feel there’s a good chance that Monaco trades higher than his starting price of 1.57 . I would expect the Argentinian to win the match though. I will wait for a higher price.

Angelique Kerber is playing extremely well and has won the last 2 meetings between her and Wozniacki. For the first time she starts as favourite against Woz and I feel that 1.55 is a little optimistic. Wozniacki struggled against Hsieh and looked to be going out. Su-Wei ran out of steam in the third set but had led by a set and a break.

These courts don’t seem to be very fast which favours Wozniacki. Both Women have played a lot of tennis recently and should be pretty weary after this one. 1.57 is too low to back from the start but I do expect Kerber to come through for the win. Whether you lay from the start or wait for a higher price to back Kerber I think you will have the chance for profit.
