There are reports that Seppi was ill last night and doubtful for today’s match with Petzschner. Petzschner starts as underdog at 2.38 and would have been a decent pick even with Seppi being fit. Lay Seppi.
Update: Seppi withdrew before the match.
Tipsarevic will have a tough match against Llodra who lifts his game on home soil. Betfair seem to have this down for 10am Friday ( according to the Toy ) but everyone else has it for this afternoon.
Llodra won their last match which was almost exactly 12 months ago in Marseille. He won 6-4, 7-6. With his serve and volley tactics Llodra will force Tipsarevic to pass him at the net. Tipsarevic is clearly capable of doing this but the Frenchman seems to have a lot more bounce in his step in front of a French crowd.
I am going for Tipsarevic to nick this one and 1.84 on the world ranked 9th player in the world it seems a decent shout.
Update: Superb match from Llodra left Tipsarevic looking a little clueless about how to beat him.
Llodra won 6-3, 7-6.
Robredo is still a tough opponent on a clay court. he was ranked at number 5 seven years ago but in now just outside the top 100.
Lorenzi has improved his ranking from 100 to 50 in the last 12 months. Clay is definitely his best surface and although he starts as slight favourite on the exchanges I have him as favourite for this one. One thing is for certain, it will be close.
Hopefully Robredo can get off to a decent start and give us a lower lay price on him.
Update: Robredo pressureed serve in the first set and pushed his price down for better lay price.
Lorenzi won 6-4, 6-4.
