The research for the betting tips has taken a long time this morning as we have some tricky matches. I won’t have time to cover every match as I did yesterday.

Kohlschreiber looks a decent pick to beat Andujar but we need a higher entry price than 1.46 . I may wait for him to get broken or face break point but I see him coming through in the end.

Update: Kohlschreiber was dominant in the first set but then started making errors in the second. In the third set Andujar took a 5-2 lead and it looked to be all over. However Kohlschreiber pulled back to a tie break which he won for a great comeback.

Kohlschreiber won 6-2, 2-6, 7-6.

Ramos looks  short against Stepanek at 1.32  at first glance but Radek is back from surgery. Ramos in good form should have too much for the Alien today.

Update: Step took an early lead but it was short lived.

Ramos won 6-3, 6-3.

Monfils has never beaten Montanes on clay. The clay courts are just about the only place than the Spaniard can compete these days so this won’t be easy for Monfils. Monfils did take a set from Almagro last week and whilst I have to favour him to get the win I can see it being 3 sets. I want a higher entry than 1.64 .

Update: Monfils was dire in the first set and couldn’t get near the Montanes serve. Montanes dropped his level a notch or 2 in the second set and Monfils was able to get into the match. It was Montanes who took the third.

Montanes won 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.

When Isner wins a tournament or reaches the semis he often goes out either the  first round the following week or to the first half decent opponent he faces. Gulbis is in great form this season and has a great chance of getting the win today. No value at SP (1.56 ) but if Gulbis has his head on the right way he should get the win.

Isner actually asked for a wild card entry for Monte Carlo but I’m not sure whether it was before he looked like going deep into the Houston event last week. He usually looks tired after 2 or 3 games of a match so its hard to tell how he is feeling but I think if he can’t get many free points with his serve he will start to fade after the first set.

Update: Isner played extremely well in the first set and had a double break lead. He was noticeably more tired towards the end of the set but was able to hang on. In the second set he had an MTO and whilst he kept fighting a few more tired looking shots crept in.

Gulbis won 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
