Tuesday 21st May 2013

Yesterday’s rain across Europe has given us a massive list of matches today. 35 matches including the Stephens match that was suspended at 2-2 in the final set. I could do with her winning that as she was the third tip yesterday. Lepchenko won and Kubot lost from 4-2 up in the 3rd set. Stephens can make it a (small) winning day.

The matches start early today to try to catch up. First one kicks off at 9am UK time.

Peng and Arvidsson should have a close match. Head to heads are 3-2 to Peng and they are 1-1 on clay with Arvidsson winning their last match on clay last year.

Peng starts at 1.49 so if we can get an early lay below 1.35 it looks like a decent entry. I expect Peng to win a tight swingy match.

Hantuchova has drifted a bit this morning and is now at 1.74 . I fancy this one to go to 3

sets.

Monfils won the Challenger in Bordeaux last week against decent opposition. Even though he is again in France this week I think he will not want to stick around too long in this tournament to allow time to rest for the best of 5 sets next week. Last year he lost in the first round and didn’t appear to take the match seriously.

Giraldo is more than capable of taking the match is Monfils doesn’t care. One to watch early on but any sign of a relaxed, joking Monfils is the signal to lay him.
