A busy day at home yesterday didn’t leave me a lot of time to trade although the ones I did get involved in worked out well. That is the tennis worked out well. The IPL seems quite random this year. I had a moderate red in the first innings but managed to get that virtually wiped out in the close finish to the match. I think I need to stay out of most of the IPL games at the start.
Unfortunately my morning is likely to be interrupted again today as I have the engineer coming to fix a fault on the boiler. He’s due any minute ( in fact he’s late) so I’m hoping it isn’t a big job.
Nieminen looks too short at 1.24 against Donskoy. I fully expect him to win the match but I want over 1.50 before I even think about backing him.
A similar story with Tomic against De Schepper. 1.60 please.
Pironkova starts at 1.45 against Pliskova. I can’t believe that she won’t trade a lot higher than her SP. She has been in very poor form of late and Pliskova reached the quarter finals in Katowice before being battered by Vinci.
Ideally we can get a lay in below 1.35 to be greedy.
Gulbis is up against Verdasco. Gulbis struggled against Stepanek who is just back from neck surgery. He almost lost the first set but stepped up a gear in the second.
Verdasco is lacking confidence in his game. In his last match against Matosevic he led 5-2 in the first set before losing the next 5 games. He fell away badly in the second set too. Will playing on home soil help him? It could well do. The crowd will certainly try to lift him as he is a well respected player in Spain. I can see Gulbis trading higher than his SP of 1.48 but I expect him to come through in 2 tight sets or perhaps 3.
Lisicki starts at 1.40 against Burnett but I don’t expect her to have an easy match. Burnett has come through the qualifying round without losing a set beating Muguruza and Puig.
Lisicki lost in the first round in Katowice to Cadantu. She lost in straight sets and has been having problems from the service line.
Worth a lay if we can get on below 1.25 to 1.30.
