Tuesday 30th July 2013

We had a few odd or unexpected results yesterday which made predictions difficult. For the SHARK TIPS service I managed 2 out of 3 which I am fairly happy with but Falla lost 6-4 in the third set against Lacko having won the first set 6-1. Mattek Sands came back from a 2-6 first set against Puig earlier this morning for a 1.70 win and Rybarikova also dropped the opening set 6-2 to McHale before easily taking the next 2 sets.

Hanescu starts at 1.73 against Bedene but there’s a very good chance he won’t be busting a gut to win today after losing in the semi final in Gstaad on Saturday. I don’t expect him to tank this one as on his current form he should cruise past Bedene but I feel if he were to lose the opening set he won’t be fighting so hard to come back. One to watch a couple of games first to see if Hanescu looks interested.

Update: Easy win for Hanescu 6-2, 6-1.

Surely Granollers will be able to put Zeballos out of his misery today. The Spaniard will put the weakened serve under a lot more pressure than Fischer did yesterday and would be favourite anyway without the injury. Unfortunately his price is 30 ticks lower than we would normally get so I will be waiting to try to grab a higher price.

Update: No higher price. Granollers won 6-0, 2-0(ret)

Voegele has a decent chance against Mona Barthel who starts as slight favourite at 1.73 .

Barthel retired from her second round match last week and hasn’t been in the best of form anyway. She hasn’t strung 2 wins together since March. Voegele has been putting in some creditable performances in recent weeks and last week she narrowly lost to eventual champion Cibulkova 5-7, 6-7.

Ideally I’d like a lower price to lay Barthel and if she drops below  1.40 to 1.5 I will be taking it.

Update: Glad I wasn’t around for this one. Barthel won 6-2, 6-2.

This evening Caroline Garcia should get the win over Tatishvilli  who beat her on clay in 3 sets in May. Garcia’s starting price of 1.65 isn’t very appealing though and I will wait to get her above evens. This should be quite a swingy match. Garcia has the stronger serve but Tatishvilli is slightly better on return.

Update: Tatishvilli won the first set 6-0 but Garcia fought back well to win 0-6, 7-6, 6-4.

  1. Hey there Shark

Have you been managing to get some streams? Do you watch the matches in bookies? Bet365 is not providing live video for practically any match in the current tournaments :/
