Wednesday 1st May 2013

We had a few strange matches yesterday making predicting results difficult. Thankfully the only betting tip was Mayer who scraped through in 3 sets. The tips ended 39 units up for April which given the -83 units first week was a pleasing result!

Cirstea has won her last 2 matches with Kanepi. Despite that Kanepi starts as favourite at 1.68 . Her return from injury has been going reasonably well but losses against Minella and Pliskova are a concern.

Cirstea’s form has been up and down as usual. She began slowly against Medina Garrigues but was soon controlling the set. She came back from a poor second set to take the decider easily.

I think we will see a lot of swings in this one but am going with Kanepi to get the win. I will be waiting for Cirstea to take the lead and will lay her below 1.60 to 1.65 .

Update: No chance of the lay on Cirstea. Kanepi won 6-1, 6-2.

Kuznetsova had a wild card entry this week and looked as though she may exit in the first round. Some of her tennis against Lepchenko was of a very low standard.

She has beaten Voskoboeva in straight sets both times they have played although the most recent was in 2009.

Voskoboeva beat Arvidsson in straight sets in the first round. She came through the qualifying rounds beating Puig in straight sets although it’s worth noting that Puig knew she was already in the main draw as Lucky Loser.

I think Kuznetsova is too low at 1.37 and is a lay for me.

Update: The initial lay worked perfectly as Voskoboeva took a 3-1 lead. Kuz came back and took 2 very tight sets.

Kuznetsova won 6-4, 6-4.

  1. Hello Shark, I was thinking about trading in Troicki’s match. The stats vouch a little bit for Troicki but I can’t make any relevant prediction on the match since I don’t know the players styles very well. Do you have any leads on them?

    Thank you very much 😀

    1. Sorry Luis I was out. That lokos like being a very tight one. I looked at it this morning and slightly favour troicki but decided to avoid the match.

  2. No problem at all, you do have a life outside of tennis like the rest of us XD. You don’t have to be in front of the computer every minute to tutor us avid pupils, or for the matter you’re not obliged to answer at all. Your availability towards this blog is fantastic and we can never thank you enough for it.

Troicki had a slow start but came down from a 0-3 to dominate the first set. Would like to watch the 2nd but the stream crashed!
