A busy evening prevented me doing the blog post. Just not enough hours in the day sometimes!

Monfils is back on court today. This time he takes on Kevin Anderson. Anderson hasn’t played a main draw match since losing to Ferrer in the first round of the US Open. He has had to come through qualifying rounds here though. Monfils reached the semi finals of his comeback tournament last week. He starts today as slight favourite at 1.72 which looks like a decent price to me.

This could be a battle of the serves and Monfils will be hoping to start the match better than he was starting them last week. Once his serve got going though it was working well.

They have only met once before which ended in a tight 2 sets win for Monfils and I think we will see the same today.Part stake on him at the start and add more if/when he goes over 2.20 .

Nieminen plays Petzschner in Thailand. Petzschner had an easy first round draw against Siriluethaiwattana. Last week he retired ( its a wonder he and Melzer ever completed a doubles match).

Nieminen only had to win a set against Sugita before his opponent also retired.

Petzschner has a great game for hard courts and won their only previous match back in 2009. I think today that if Nieminen can get his nose in front then Petzschner won’t have the stomach for a fight. I expect the early price to bounce around a fair bit as long as we don’t get a quick break. I’ll look to grab a price on Nieminen over evens.
